COP30: Evento no Pavilhão de Portugal promovido pela Youth Climate Leaders

No dia 14 de novembro de 2025 o Diretor Executivo da Casa Comum da Humanidade, Paulo Magalhães, foi Orador convidado no evento intitulado “Desafios e Oportunidades da Transição Justa para a Comunidade CPLP” que se realizou no Pavilhão de Portugal da COP30, em Belém do Pará no Brasil, promovido pela Youth Climate Leaders (YCL Portugal), entidade parceira da Casa Comum da Humanidade.

A discussão promovida pela YCL Portugal abordou a importância da transição justa nas negociações climáticas, destacando a necessidade de consenso entre países, financiamento adequado e capacitação técnica. Exemplos de Brasil, Portugal (representado por Paulo Magalhães) e Moçambique foram apresentados, enfatizando a inclusão social e a conexão com as comunidades locais para garantir uma transição energética equitativa e sustentável. Na CPLP, a transição para uma economia de baixo carbono é uma oportunidade para construir empregos, reduzir desigualdades e fortalecer comunidades locais. Porém, existem ainda vários desafios pela frente como consenso regional, financiamento adequado, capacitação técnica e engajamento comunitário.

The challenges and opportunities of just transition for the CPLP Community

COP30: Event on Portugal Pavilion promoted by the Youth Climate Leaders

On 14 November 2025, the Executive Director of Common Home of Humanity, Paulo Magalhães, was a guest speaker at the event entitled “Challenges and Opportunities of the Just Transition for the CPLP Community”, which took place at the Portugal Pavilion at COP30, in Belém do Pará, Brazil, promoted by Youth Climate Leaders (YCL Portugal), a partner entity of the Common Home of Humanity.

The discussion promoted by YCL Portugal addressed the importance of a just transition in climate negotiations, highlighting the need for consensus among countries, adequate financing and technical training. Examples from Brazil, Portugal (represented by Paulo Magalhães) and Mozambique were presented, emphasising social inclusion and connection with local communities to ensure an equitable and sustainable energy transition. In the CPLP, the transition to a low-carbon economy is an opportunity to create jobs, reduce inequalities and strengthen local communities. However, there are still several challenges ahead, such as regional consensus, adequate financing, technical training and community engagement.
